Image ideas can be realised as etchings or linocuts, we design our own paste paper and in the creative paper workshop we create origami boxes, booklets or fanfolds. On a tour of the museum, the educational staff give the children a lively introduction to the fascination of historical printing technology and craftsmanship. They learn why the invention of printing was so world-shattering and how books were produced over 500 years ago. In the type foundry, the preschoolers experience the manual and mechanical production of lead type before they see how texts are set and printed from the moulded letters.
